There is a great mix of thoughtfulness, practicality, and exercise.

Parenting Advice & Discussion Group
Parenting discussions about problems or issues and possible solutions for our children in and out of school.
HOST: Jeremy Dierst

"Braiding Sweetgrass" Book Circle
Book Circle discussing "Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants" by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
'Dr. Kimmerer presents this book as a gift of braided stories “meant to heal our relationship with the world” by weaving together the three strands of “indigenous ways of knowing, scientific knowledge, and the story of an Anishinabekwe scientist trying to bring them together in service to what matters most.” That is, the necessity for humankind to be rejoined with its relationships to nature, and to understand the implications of the Earth’s gifts and our responsibility to return these gifts.'

Hiking After Church
Come join us to explore hiking in our local county. These hikes are kid and dog friendly, so please bring kids, your dogs, or just yourself.

Mindful Mondays
This will be a 30 minute, weekly meditation group. Mindfulness is “the awareness that arises from paying attention on purpose to the present moment, without judgement but with openness and curiosity.” Among other benefits, Mindfulness has the ability to reduce stress by calming the nervous system. In each gathering there will be a PowerPoint with information on mindfulness and we will practice a meditation.
HOST: Barb Jones, who has been practicing and teaching mindfulness for 17 years.

Fridays Walks on Riverwalk
We'll meet at the Totem pole on the Riverwalk plaza in Mt Vernon, near Taste of India Restaurant, walk for 45 minutes (weather permitting)
